Cooper Yoo Joins IWBFD Studios — and Directs the Media Façade at APHRS 2026 Busan
IWBFD Studios welcomes Cooper Yoo (유상현) as its newest signed talent — and marks the moment with the work he delivered the same season: the creative direction of the media fçade and stage experience at the APHRS 2026 Busan Faculty Dinner.

Who is Cooper Yoo

Cooper Sanghyun Yoo is a creative technical director based in Seoul and a professor of entertainment technology at Seokyeong University. Across interactive performance, digital-media exhibition, and extended reality, his work has reached the festivals that define the field — Sundance (SCARECROW VR, New Frontier), Cannes (RAIN FRUITS VR), SXSW (POISON VR; DANI: The Portrait of a Beauty), and Tribeca (Missing Pictures EP5). His research runs on audience interaction, mixed reality, and collective intelligence — the craft of making an experience a room full of people feel together.

What he did at APHRS 2026 Busan
At the Faculty Dinner of the 19th Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Session (APHRS 2026 Busan), in conjunction with KHRS 2026, Cooper served as Creative Director of the media fçade. The role reached beyond the screens: he directed how the fçade and the live performance moved as one, turning a ballroom into a single, choreographed environment — from abstract coral fields of color to a classical opera-house transformation — that carried the evening rather than decorated it.

What IWBFD Studios contributed
The event was produced by Intercom (INTERCOM Convention Service, Inc.) — one of Korea’s top-tier global PCOs (Professional Conference Organizers). Founded in 1985 and based in Seoul, Intercom has spent four decades at the forefront of Korea’s convention and MICE industry, planning and producing international conferences. Working as a cross-border partner under its vision “Design Tomorrow, Meet Tomorrow,” it creates the settings where ideas and people meet.
What IWBFD Studios contributed was the structure of the work itself: separating artistic direction from production, and supplying the artistic direction. Production stayed with Intercom; the creative direction came from an IWBFD talent. For Intercom, it was the first time the two were split this way — a new shape for how a landmark event gets made.
